  • Welcome to Emily Photography!

I have enjoyed working with Vera and her family over the years with sessions in their home, parks, by the river, and some other fun locations:)  I was privileged to document her third son’s newborn photos and first year, and was so excited when she contacted me about maternity photos this winter.  When I suggested outdoor maternity pictures in the snow, I was thrilled when she was as enthusiastic as I was about the idea:)We met shortly before sunset, and I loved capturing her beautiful baby belly with the lake, snowy woods, and softly falling snow as a backdrop.  Her creamy white dress was stunning, especially with the soft glow of light all around her. I can’t wait to see if she has a boy or a girl and do newborn photos for this special family.

How has it already been 6 months since this beautiful little one was born?! It does not seem that long ago that I swaddled her tight for newborn photos, but now she is rolling around and nearly sitting up all on her own! Though the cold kept us indoors for this session, we made the most of natural daytime light for some sweet and girly shots. Her mommy and I had so much fun choosing outfits and accessories, and baby girl did so well playing “dress up.” But of course she was happiest when wearing nothing but her diaper! And no session would be complete without some family photos, so we made sure to have daddy come to join us too! I love this happy family!:)

How can you not be in love with this child and these photos! Emily, love, love these pictures and Jenna and Phil she is so adorable!

I love when brides opt for a winter wedding! The day for Bill and Melanie’s wedding was cold, but the snow was falling softly, which made for gorgeous outdoor photos! I am so glad that the bride and groom were willing to brave the freezing temperatures to get some shots together in the snow. So many details of the day made it beautiful — her dress, the flowers, the rustic reception location, and of course the couple’s love for one another. Congratulations on your special day!

It’s so much fun to take photos of parents and kids of all ages! Though these “kids” are grown, I love that they still rough house, tease and laugh at each other. Our session certainly had an abundance of genuine smiles! This family holds a special place in my heart — both parents and kids are truly blessed to have each other!
