Saturday was a gorgeous day for my mini sessions! All of the proceeds for the sessions went to support an amazing foundation called Sofia’s Gift Foundation (see bottom of post for more detailed information about the foundation). I really enjoyed meeting the 15 families I had the privilege of photographing! Enjoy your preview!!

A message from the founders of Sofia’s Gift Foundation…
Sofia’s Gift Foundation was established in 2005, in honor of our daughter Sofia Ella.
Our beautiful daughter Sofia was born with HLHS, a heart defect affecting one in every 8,000 newborns. She underwent two open-heart surgeries. After fighting for 10 months, Sofia died on April 6, 2003 while awaiting a heart transplant.
Most of Sofia’s life was spent at the Children’s Hospital of New York-
Presbyterian. While the nurses and doctors at the hospital are professional
and kind, a lengthy stay can be very challenging for families. We founded
this charity, Sofia’s Gift, to benefit the children and families of the Children’s
Hospital of New York-Presbyterian. Sofia’s Gift supports the many needs of
families including transportation, airfare and accomodations, holiday meals,
financial assistance and replenishment of recreational/educational items for children.
Sofia’s Gift to us can never be matched. She showed us how to be strong
when we were weak, how to be faithful when there’s little hope and how a smile can overcome pain. Our hope is that this foundation will embody her remarkable spirit.
