You should expect our session to last anywhere from 1-2 hours. (Newborn sessions may take longer to allow for feeding and changing). The more relaxed you are, the more you will like your photos. If I am having trouble getting the shots I need, I may provide some direction, but I usually capture the images just by observing.
Before your session, I will have a phone or email consultation with you where we will discuss what you are looking for in more detail, what to expect during and after the session, etc. At this time, we can discuss ordering and design options.
My clients anticipate a 2-2-2-2 timeline after our session: within two days after your session you will see a sneak peek of images on my blog; within two weeks of our session, I will send you a link to an online gallery containing 20-30 edited images from the session. Your images will be available for viewing for two weeks. After you place your order, you can expect to receive your prints in about two weeks.

‘What should we wear?’ is one of my most frequently asked questions, and my answer is always the same. You should wear what makes you, ‘you’. As a general rule, though, kids look great in bright colors and lots of layers, families look best in clothes with coordinating colors (but not matching), babies look best in anything simple, and newborns look best in only a diaper or no clothes at all. These are only guidelines, however, because most of all, I want the focus to be on you and not your clothing. If you need suggestions or direction with clothing, I’d be happy to help.
L O C A T I O N S A N D T I M E S
I am a natural light photographer and shoot only in available light. I prefer to take outdoor portraits in the early morning or early evening when the light is most flattering, but can shoot at other times during the day provided there is open shade available. Indoor sessions can be scheduled at almost any time during the day. I can shoot at an outdoor location of your choice or in your home. The session fee covers travel to any location within the Northern New Jersey Area and I am always open to new ideas.
ABOUT YOUR SESSION
To me, a beautiful photograph is not so much about the beauty of the subject or the beauty of the surroundings but rather it is about the emotion captured in an instant. I strive to capture those moments, so that when you look back at your photos years from now you not only see someone you love, but you feel something as well.
I allow plenty of time to establish a relaxed environment with your children and family. I will never ask you to say ‘cheese’ and will only give you minimal direction when it comes to posing. I really want to be the observer in your family interaction and bring that interaction out in my photos.
My goal is to present you with a collection of photos that tells a story. To truly capture you . . . just as you are.
